The first chapter of English textbook for eighth-grade students usually focuses on self-introduction and basic life descriptions. As a typical middle school student, I'd like to share my personal story through this writing.
In my family of five members, each person has unique characteristics that shape my growing-up experience. My father, a software engineer, often stays late at the office but always finds time to review my math homework every weekend. His passion for technology inspired me to participate in the school robotics club last year. My mother, a high school English teacher, creates English learning games for me, which helps me improve my vocabulary significantly. The younger brother who just entered primary school always tags along when I study, sometimes making funny mistakes that lighten our family atmosphere. These daily interactions have taught me the importance of family support.
School life constitutes the largest portion of my time. At No.1 Middle School, I'm currently a member of the environmental protection team. Last month, our group organized a campus tree-planting activity, which not only improved our school's green space but also strengthened our teamwork skills. My favorite subject remains biology, where we recently conducted an interesting experiment on plant growth under different light conditions. However, physics remains a challenge, especially when dealing with complex formulas. I've started attending after-school tutoring sessions twice a week to overcome this difficulty.
Beyond academic studies, I maintain a balanced lifestyle through various hobbies. Reading has been my constant companion since childhood. Currently, I'm finishing "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, which has inspired me to set clear personal goals. In sports, I've developed a passion for badminton over the past two years. Representing my class in school competitions has improved my physical coordination and taught me the value of perseverance. Music also occupies a special place in my life - I've been learning to play the piano since age seven and recently performed Beethoven's "Für Elise" in the school music festival.
Looking ahead, I've established both short-term and long-term objectives. This semester, I aim to achieve a distinction in all major exams while continuing to develop my public speaking skills through debate club participation. In three years, I plan to become a biology major in high school with a focus on environmental science. Long-term, I aspire to establish a community recycling program that combines technology with environmental education, contributing to sustainable development in our society.
These experiences have gradually shaped my worldview. I've learned that personal growth requires continuous learning and balanced development.
